Disney is back. I know, they never left, but they had a streak of so so movies and a bad case if sequelitis.
This was such a treat to watch. Disney going back to its roots. Basic stories, with heart. Sounds like a Pixar film… Well, John Lasseter is the head of Disney animation. The big guy at Pixar, who helped bring Toy Story to us all, is now there running the show. For me, its shows… Big time! John is all about story, and story, and then more story. If it’s not good enough, it’s not done.
So, the story was great. A classic tale taken from a different angle. True Disney fashion. Not only was the story good, the characters were good to. They weren’t your standard 2 dimensional characters. Pardon the pun. They had depth, passion, dreams. All of the main characters grew over the course of the movie. I’d say the only character that didn’t really grow, was The Shadow Man. Rather simple, one note bad guy.
Overall, if you haven’t seen this yet, take the time to watch it. You will be pleasantly surprised.
Till next time – Live Long and Prosper
